Electrical FAQ

Here are a few of the questions that we get asked on a regular basis.

Why are the lights in my home flickering?

This may just be the lightbulb. Check that the light bulb is properly screwed in and if there is no difference, thenreplace the bulb. Is it still flickering? This is an indication that there is a loose wire which should be handled assoon as possible. If you can, try to not use the light until the electrician arrives as loose wires can lead to fires and/or personal injury.

How do I reset a breaker?

When looking at your electrical panel there should be one switch that is not aligned with the others. If you look closely it should show that it is in the off position. To turn the breaker back on you will need to push the breaker towards the off position first and then turn it back towards the on position. The breaker should click back into alignment with the rest others.

What is a GFCI outlet?

Standing for “ground fault circuit interrupter”, a GFCI is an extra safety measure to protect people from potential danger. GFCI are used in bathrooms, kitchens, unfinished basements and any place where the outlet may come in contact with water. The outlet has a mechanism that will turn off the circuit if it detects electricity going down the incorrect path, for example through water or a person.

Testimonials

Great work. Everything looks great and we are saving money every month. Our bill went from over $300 a month in the summer to $25. Dean, the owner, is very knowledgeable and recommended solar plus battery storage. Now we don’t have to worry about power outages or PG&E shutting off the power when they want to. A+ highly recommend Wired Into the Future.

Wired Into the Future Solar has won our praises. The whole process from beginning and planning, to turning the solar on was easy. They took care of everything. Dean the owner gets a thumbs up, he explained how the process would go, how much energy to expect, and how to access everything from my phone. He changed out our electrical service as part of the contract, since they are licensed as an electrical contractor, and we have more capacity to add a hot tub this summer. We will be calling Dean to hook it up when we get it. It's really nice to have someone that can answer all of our questions (and believe me my husband had many) with complete confidence. Dean really knows his stuff. We are recommending Wired Into the Future to our friends and family.

This company went the extra mile for our installation. We have some shade on our property, and the panels were placed in the sunny spots. Several months after the installation, our energy bill is smaller than we expected. My wife was concerned how it would look, but the installation looks great. I feel we received what we paid for, and at a good price. It only took a few days for them to install our solar, and the whole thing went smoothly. My wife and I would recommend Wired Into the Future to anyone looking for a solar energy system.
